We Got Married (and it was Perfect)

I have a little life update to share with you… we got married!

It was everything we hoped for and more – relaxed, joyful, filled with love, and surrounded by the most special people in our lives. From the beginning, I was adamant that I didn’t want a big fat Greek wedding (sorry, not sorry!). What we really wanted was a celebration that felt true to us – simple, nature-inspired, and full of good energy.

We found the perfect setting at Sails on Kos – our beloved Pilates retreat venue, and a place that already holds a special place in our hearts. It was the ideal backdrop for the kind of laid-back, heart-centered gathering we had dreamed of. With sunflowers as our theme, the space came alive with warmth and color, perfectly reflecting the joy of the day.

We chose a BBQ-style dinner, but it was far from your average BBQ – the flavors were out of this world, and every bite felt like it had been made with love. The music? A perfect blend of English and Greek tracks that got everyone dancing (and yes, maybe a little bit emotional too).

But more than the food or the music, what made the day truly unforgettable was the people.

Since moving to Kos, I’ve been lucky enough to build some of the most beautiful friendships – connections that are real, deep, and full of soul. Being able to celebrate with these friends, along with our families, and of course my now-husband, filled my heart in ways I can’t quite describe. The generosity, the love, the presence of everyone who showed up for us… I will never forget it.

And then there were my grandparents. At 85 years old, they stole the show on the dance floor. My grandma – my idol – was dancing like there was no tomorrow. She was given 5-10 years to live almost 30 years ago, and yet here she was, living proof that when you take your health seriously and live fully, life will surprise you in the most magical ways. She inspires me every single day.

This whole experience reminded me again of the power of gratitude – for love, for health, for chosen family, for the simple things that end up meaning the most. It reminded me of the importance of friendship, of showing up, of celebrating life whenever we can.

So, from our little corner of the world here in Kos – thank you for being part of our extended community. We’re feeling so much love, and we’re sending some of that love your way, too.

With a full heart,

Gilly
